The Education Team takes an individualized approach when designing services for a student or a young adult.  With that in mind, the team is able to serve a diverse group of people and offer an array of services based on the need and desires of the person served.

It is the belief of people at New England Business Associates that employment should play a primary role in the development a young person.  NEBA supports schools, families and young adults to achieve their potential in employment, academics and personal development.  NEBA offers:

  • Short term or extended employment and educational services depending on the need of the young adult.
  • Development of a comprehensive vocational profile and an Individual Service Design.
  • Community based services, whether on the job, at college, in the home, in a classroom, or elsewhere.
  • Available travel training.
  • Career portfolio development.

The following are some of the employment areas that our team has helped our people into:

  • Nursing Assistance
  • Elder Care
  • Food Service
  • Retail Sales
  • Banquet Facility

Continuing and Post Secondary Education

For many of our learners, community college or a continuing education program has been the best way to address personal growth and career enhancement.  With the assistance and cooperation of Springfield College, NEBA has developed a unique educational program called "On-Our-Way".  The intent of the program is to provide college age students with disabilities real access to a college experience.  But our "On-Our-Way" program is not the only academic program available.  For example:

  • We currently assist a young woman in taking both painting and computer imaging classes at a local community college.   We are working with her to turn her art into a business.
  • We assisted a young woman from an area school to become a Certified Nurses Assistant.  To do this, we attended classes with the young women, offered supplemental tutoring, and negotiated employment once she passed her exam.
  • Students take classes to increase their employment potential or for their own personal growth.  Either way, New England Business Associates helps the student navigate the system, identify needs and help them achieve their goals.

It is the belief of New England Business Associates that all people who have the desire can access and have something to gain through education.
